District Administration, Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh has commissioned a project to conceptualize, design and supervise the Execution of Cultural Centre at Tal Kothi in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh to DRONAH. Tal Kothi in located in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, a historically significant structure known as a “palace on water.” The District Administration plans on setting up a Cultural Centre (Public Library / Craft Incubation Centre/ Citizen Engagement Centre) an important heritage site in the city of Tikamgarh. The proposal for securing a grant under ‘Financial Assistance for Tagore Cultural Complexes (TCC)’ under the “Scheme of Financial Assistance for Creation of Cultural Infrastructure”. The historic structure was once associated with Orchha Durbar, whose library was housed in its lower-level rooms. The building with high significance for both its architectural and historic association, will be used as a location of a set of public activities to facilitate the citizens (Library, interpretation centre, University offices, Lakeside Café) as well as provide a suitable space for promotion of local craft and capacity building (auditorium, convention and craft incubation centre).
